Welcome to the Human Centred Systems Group…

Our group is part of the Department of Computer Science at University College London. We investigate new technologies & systems – working independently, with leading industry partners and within EU projects.

The interdisciplinary backgrounds of our members allow us to cover a broad range of research themes with a strong focus on usable security systems (Biometrics, CCTV, general computer security). We further focus on mobile systems, social networks, intelligent user interfaces and e-government. Find out more about our research projects. If you are interested in getting involved in our research, have a look at our current opportunities. We offer summer internships and are also open to interesting research projects.

We teach a variety of courses to undergraduate and graduate students as part of the CS curriculum. Angela Sasse, the head of the Human Centred Systems Group, also teaches a graduate course on People and Security at Oxford University. As part of the skills training program of the UCL Graduate School, we give workshops on Communicating Research on the Web.

We collaborate with the UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC) he leading UK Centre of Excellence in Human-Computer Interaction. UCLIC also works collaboratively with industry and the research community and draws on the best scientific traditions in Computer Science and Psychology. UCLIC is the only UK HCI Centre with formal interdisciplinary support.
